The Holiday Season

This holiday season is kicking my butt. We have been so busy with Sage, work, and getting ready for Christmas. I feel like Sage is doing so much and I am neglecting to document it. So this post is going to be all about Sage! I'll update later this weekend with pictures from last weekends Christmas parties.
  • When we say "I love you"...she says "I love you too".
  • She wants to wrap all her babies and animals in a blanket and carry them around
  • She gives me a weather report every morning...foggy, raining, sunny, snowing.
  • Her new favorite saying is "I don't want to".
  • She screams like she is being murdered the entire time I'm washing her hair
  • She can eat an entire can of pears in one sitting
  • She insists on all her food being put in a bowl
  • She still LOVES her beep (binkie)
  • She stands at our back door and yells for each of the dogs individually when they have been outside for too long
  • She is learning how to burp and thinks it is really funny
  • She screams "SANTA" at the top of her lungs whenever she sees a picture of him on anything. Makes for good times when we're shopping
  • She could care less about our Christmas Tree or the presents underneath.
  • She is still using her potty chair pretty consistently.

AND THE BIG ONE.......SHE IS A LEFTY!!! SHE IS TAKING AFTER MY GRANDFATHER, MY SISTER, HER COUSIN TESSA, SCOTT'S DAD, AND SCOTT'S SISTER KELLY!

Thanksgiving Recap

Thanksgiving was such a fun holiday and weekend. My sister and her family and Scott's sister and her family came to town. We had Thanksgiving at my parents house, which was wonderful. The weekend continued with shopping and Christmas Tree hunting.

Sage putting the star on the Christmas Tree. She didnt' understand what she was supposed to do, so we kind of faked it.
Checking out the Christmas lights. We put the tree up when she was napping. When she woke up, she walked into the living room and saw the tree. She looked at me, totally confused, and asked "what happened?"

The great Christmas Tree hunt with the Brunos (Scott's sister's family). We went to a great u-cut in Phoenix. We planned on going to the forest, but I had a really bad heachache, so we settled for a u-cut.

Family picture during the hunt

Thanksgiving Day. Sage having a tea party with her cousins.

3 Years

3 Years ago today was both the best and worst day of my life. Our sweet boys came into this world far too early. They were so brave and beautiful, but far too small to be with us long. I am so thankful for the 5 days we had with Mason and the 6 days we had with Adam. They gave me the chance to be a Mommy, something I had wanted for so long. Their strength was amazing, just not quite enough to stay here with us. They left me with many gifts.....the chance to love them, a stronger marriage, a deeper Faith. And of course the greatest gift of all.......Sage. I don't believe that things happen for a reason, but without Mason & Adam, there would be no Sage. I can't imagine our lives without her, and sometimes when I look at her, I send a little message of Thanks to my Boys.

Grouch

This is the face I get on daycare days when Sage has to get up early. She is NOT a morning person. Thankfully, it doesn't take long for her mood to improve.

Broken

We tried to do a little photo shoot today to get a decent Christmas card picture. Sage is in constant motion and it was nearly impossible to get anything half decent. We managed to get a few good ones, but the majority of them were of her back. She was far too busy to pay attention to the camera. We made huge fools of ourselves trying to get her to look at us. Too bad for us.
So, this morning, Scott & I were drinking coffee and watching the news, when Sage walked into the living room. We heard her say..."Uh Oh...Broke it". I looked up and she was holding my glasses in her hand. She had broken one of the sides completely off. I was so mad at myself for leaving them where she could reach them. Thank God I have another pair of glasses. You live and you learn!

First Haircut

Well, I finally gave in and she got her first haircut today. Her hair was growing out so uneven it gave her a natural mullet. It had to go. I just had the back cut of and shaped into a little bob. It is so cute.
Eating her popcorn from Target. Talk about the perfect bribe food. I can shop all day at Target as long as she has that bag of popcorn and an "ade" otherwise know as Lemonade.

She is starting to string more words together now. Today I asked her to pick up a snack bowl that she had left on the ground. She looked at me and said "I don't want to". Hmm.. I guess it's beginning.

Pumpkin Fairy

Halloweeen was so much fun. It only took going to a couple of houses before Sage figured out that people were giving her candy. She actually said trick-or-treat at every house and thank you. She went to many more houses than I anticipated. She was really caught up in the energy of Halloween. It was one of the funnest times that we've had with her.
