Swim Lessons

So, the swim lessons were a bust. She SCREAMED at the top of her lungs for the entire half hour. Wait, I take that back. She was quiet for maybe 5 minutes, when I finally let her sit on the edge of the pool. It was humiliating, exhausting, and I felt terribly for Sage. The lessons must continue though. The kid needs to learn to swim. We were driving away, after the lesson, and she said to me.."mommy..that was really fun". We must have been in two different places, because no fun was had!

Applegate Lake

We went to Applegate Lake yesterday to enjoy our fabulous weather. It was Sage's first time at a lake.

This is as far as she would go in.....feet only & no splashing allowed. I'm hoping she'll be more adventurous as she gets more used to the water.

This is the smile we get when she says "cheese"

We start swim lessons tomorrow....should be interesting considering Sage HATES the water. I'm trying to be positive though....hopefully we won't get kicked out.

Mother's Day

We went out to my parents house today. My dad made one of my very favorite things....Razor Clams! They are so delicious. We usually buy them when we go out to eat at McGraths. It was our first time having my Dad's and they were even better. Sage LOVES going to my parents house. The weather was so beautiful today. She spent the entire day out on their patio.
Her favorite activity of the day was watering Pop Pop's lawn and Boo Boo's rocks.

She gave me a lady bug flag for Mother's Day that she picked out all by herself. She was so proud this morning. We have a flagpole that is out on the front of our house. It looks wonderful flying there.

Lots Of Pictures

We've been enjoying some really nice weather here. We play out on our patio daily. Lots of ball, climbing, water stuff, & play-doh.

Feeding the goats at our local petting zoo. She loved it, but they were pretty pushy, so I had to watch and make sure they didn't bite her.

She rode a pony! I was so proud.
Our conversations are getting better everyday. We went to the park yesterday and there were lots of planes flying overhead. She loves to look at them and scream HI to the people on the planes. When we got home, she told her dad that she jumped up and pulled a plane out the sky with her arms because she is very strong. Where does she come up with this stuff?

Catching Up

We've been so busy, so I though I'd just catch everyone up
  • Scott went to Eureka for a few days to visit his family and friends. He needed some away time. Now that the weather has been better, he's been riding his motorcycle a lot and is loving it.
  • Sage is a talking machine. She pretty much says everything. She is incredibly articulate and is really easy to understand. She is trying to make associations between people now. For example, she loves to talk about the fact that her PoP PoP is my Dad & her Boo Boo is my mom (PoP PoP and Boo Boo is what she calls my parents). She realized the other day that Boo Boo is her Grandmother and called her Grandma Boo Boo.
  • She has a friend at daycare named Joey. They play together all the time and she talks about him at home a lot. We met Joey and his mom at the park a few weeks ago. Joey and Sage spotted each other across the park and ran to each other. When they finally reached each other, Joey planted a big kiss on her. It was like something out of a movie. So cute.
  • Our weather has been great. Sage and I have been out weeding and gardening a lot. She loves to spend time outdoors. We're going to plant some flowers next week.
  • Tomorrow we're going to a big farm type petting zoo. I'll post pictures next week. Hopefully she'll get on a pony for a ride.
  • I have my quarterly girls scrapbooking reatreat this weekend. CAN'T WAIT!

Fire

We bought a fire pit for our patio. This is our first attempt at using it, and as you can see, Sage was quite the "helper".

This is Scott trying to teach her to smile for the camera. Ummm....didn't work out.

Happy Easter

We spent Easter at my parents house. My neices were there (Tessa & Sadie), so they helped Sage do her egg hunt. Sage hadn't seen Tess & Sadie since Thanksgiving, so it was nice for them to all be together.
