Cutting For Stone

Wow, I finished it. It was super long and I devoured it in about 5 days. I highly recommend this book to anyone. It is a story set in Ethiopia and America. Historical fiction. Medically based. I learned so much and fell in love with the characters. A must read as far as I am concerned. Now, on to the next one......

Left Neglected

OK, so I finihed this book in 3 days. LOVED IT! This is by the same author who wrote "Still Alice" which is in my top 10 of best books ever. "Left Neglected" is not as good as "Still Alice", but it was a great read that I really enjoyed. Sidenote to Laura....you would LOVE "Still Alice". Get it at the library ASAP. I am starting a new book tonight. It is called "Cutting For Stone" and it is a long one, so hopefully I can finish it in a timely manner. I will report back :)

The Lonely Polygamist

I love to read. LOVE IT! Unfortunately, I also love to watch TV. My two loves compete against each other. So, to motivate me to read more (which is the better option between the 2, right?), I'm going to document the books I read in 2011. I'm sad to say that it took me nearly 3 weeks to read The Lonely Polygamist. Not becuase it wasn't good, but because I've been too busy watching The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Top Chef, Brothers & Sisters, Selling New York, Modern Family, and embarrasingly The Young and The Restless. I really enjoyed The Lonely Polygamist. It is very much a black comedy and not the usual type of book that I read. It was quirky and fun. I give it a good solid B!

Big hit of the day...a DJ mixing station!

Our Christmas was wonderful. My parents came over early for breakfast and gift opening. They stayed through dinner where we ate the most delicious crab. Sage was entertained all day with her new gifts. She loved everything and we loved seeing her excitement.

Merry Christmas Eve

Yay! It's Christmas Eve! Sage made ornaments today (thanks for the idea Diane). She loved it and worked completely independently for over an hour.

One of her ornaments

Homeade snack mix. It's our family's favorite snack.

We played lots of "TIP IT" today too. This was the parting gift that Sage's elf Eliza left for her this morning. What a fun game. We have all really enjoyed it today. I still have some baking to do today and clam dip to make. Then out for dinner and off to look at lights. My parents will be over first thing tomorrow morning to start off the Christmas festivities. Looking really forward to it.
