Guess who.......

Loves the lake? Yep.....Nala Bug! We had a nice day today, so decided to take Nala & Sage to Agate Lake. Scott kayaked and I supervised the lake play.

The second we took Nala off leash, she ran directly into the lake.

They played for two hours straight!

This was our first time taking Nala off leash and she did great. We walked around quite a bit and she stayed right with us.

We have always loved going to the lake, but with Nala it gives us an extra incentive (keep the puppy exercised!), so I imagine it will be something we start doing more frequently.

Puberty?

 

 

Nala is approaching 6 months.  She has went from being such a good girl to a girl full of naughty ideas.  Her recent escapades include tearing up Riley's dog bed, breaking a sprinkler line, trying to chew up our pool cover pump (she is constantly on top of our kids safe pool cover), and tearing around the back yard with a big mouse in her mouth! Even with all her naughtiness, she is still such a joy to us.  As you can tell, she loves having her picture taken.  We spend a lot of time at the dog park with her and whenever someone brings out a camera, here comes Nala, stopping in front of it and posing.  She continues to be a wonderful addition to our family.  Sage loves her to pieces of course! 

Snow!

We had a little snow on the Valley floor today. It was our day off, so Sage enjoyed it for hours this morning.

It didn't slow Riley and Nala down. We had to take Riley to the vet yesterday. Having Nala around has been hard on his old body. He is having some symptoms of arthritis in his back end. Did some lab work (which was great) and getting him started on some medication.

Bangs, Teeth, and Dogs

I've been begging her to do something with her hair. She really wants to let it grow longer, but it always looked so tangled and rough. I finally talked her into bangs. I offered her a trip to Barnes & Noble in exchange for the haircut, and it was a deal she accepted. Not a surprise...she picked out a Beanie Baby at B&N. She also lost her second bottom tooth over the weekend. This is must more evidence that she is growing up way too fast.

Nala has also lost her two bottom teeth...her and Sage are twins right now.

She will not leave poor Riley alone.

Christmas 2011

We had a wonderful, quiet Christmas. It was the three of us in the morning and my parents came later in the day for dinner.

Sage got lots of Littlest Pet Shop stuff from Santa

And a new, bigger chair.

And Playmobil, lots of Playmobil. For some reason, I didn't take my camera out again that day.

Playing

It was a super nice, mild day today so we spent a lot of time in the backyard playing with the dogs. Nala is obsessed with Riley. Riley is obsessed with playing ball. He chases the ball. She chases him. And she holds on to his ear or his scruff for dear life. He has become very patient with her. He could easily shake her off, but he doesn't. After about a half hour, he does get grumpy, so we just end our playtime. As you can see from the above pic, she loves to stand up on him.

This girl didn't even get dressed today. It was a jammie day for her.

Waiting for the ball

Miss Chloe just hangs out. Her ears are up because she heard Scott come home. I love how her ears raise when she is listening to something. Chloe is the cutest, cuddliest dog ever. She oversees things in the backyard with Riley and Nala.

Christmas Eve

Since Christmas Eve was on a Saturday, we just relaxed at home most of the day. It was really nice and I didn't really take any pictures, other than the two posted here. We always go out to eat on Christmas Eve and then we go and look at lights.
