Diamond Lake

For my Mom & Dad's 40th wedding anniversary, they rented the family cabin at Diamond Lake and we spent 4 night there with my parents and my sister & her family.

Eating snacks and watching Camp Scooby Doo in the Jeep. Apparantly an hour and a half long car ride is torture to my child. She started crying in Shady Cove (20 minutes away) that she had no idea it took so long to get to the lake & that we lied to her. She is not a born traveler. Never has been. We generally avoid long car trips with her because it is hell on earth for us.

Lucy joined us on our vacation. I figured since she has chronic diarrhea and is totally deaf, it might not be a good idea to leave her with our housesitter!

The Invisible Bridge

I was so excited to read this...it has been on my must read list for a while. I have been trying to get through it for weeks now. It is so slow. I'm bummed because it is about my favorite time in history (WW2). I'm planning on continuing reading it in-between other books. I've never done that before, but I feel compelled to try harder to finish it.

Eyes In The Bubbles

Swimming this summer has been going great. Sage is doing so well in swim lessons. During her class she swims independently with no aid except for flippers. In our pool, she still likes to wear her Puddle Jumper. In swim class, they call putting their face in the water, "eyes in the bubbles". She loves it. I never thought she would submerge her face, but she is becoming quite the little underwater gal.

The Violets Of March

I loved this book. A little mystery, a little historical fiction, and a whole lot of beach! It was really good summer read.

Then Came You

This is one of my favorite authors. I read each and every book that is published by her. This one was certainly better than the last couple of books she's put out. I really enjoyed it.
