Happy Holidays

Santa was very good to Sage this year. Must be because she is such a good girl. Her big Santa gift was a kitchen and she has been cooking for us all weekend. She walked out to the tree on Christmas morning and looked at her gifts and said "AWESOME". I have no clue where she learned that. On Christmas Eve she came up with a new phrase too.....FOR GOD'S SAKE. The funny thing is, she says it at totally appropriate times. I can tell you where she learned that one....from ME. We spent Christmas morning at home with just the 3 of us, and then my parents came over for a prime rib dinner later in the day. It was a great, relaxing day. Sage met her new cousin Reid for the first time this weekend. Scott's sister had her first baby in July and we met him this weekend. The photos are from a little shoot we did on Christmas Eve evening.

The Holiday Season

This holiday season is kicking my butt. We have been so busy with Sage, work, and getting ready for Christmas. I feel like Sage is doing so much and I am neglecting to document it. So this post is going to be all about Sage! I'll update later this weekend with pictures from last weekends Christmas parties.
  • When we say "I love you"...she says "I love you too".
  • She wants to wrap all her babies and animals in a blanket and carry them around
  • She gives me a weather report every morning...foggy, raining, sunny, snowing.
  • Her new favorite saying is "I don't want to".
  • She screams like she is being murdered the entire time I'm washing her hair
  • She can eat an entire can of pears in one sitting
  • She insists on all her food being put in a bowl
  • She still LOVES her beep (binkie)
  • She stands at our back door and yells for each of the dogs individually when they have been outside for too long
  • She is learning how to burp and thinks it is really funny
  • She screams "SANTA" at the top of her lungs whenever she sees a picture of him on anything. Makes for good times when we're shopping
  • She could care less about our Christmas Tree or the presents underneath.
  • She is still using her potty chair pretty consistently.

AND THE BIG ONE.......SHE IS A LEFTY!!! SHE IS TAKING AFTER MY GRANDFATHER, MY SISTER, HER COUSIN TESSA, SCOTT'S DAD, AND SCOTT'S SISTER KELLY!

Thanksgiving Recap

Thanksgiving was such a fun holiday and weekend. My sister and her family and Scott's sister and her family came to town. We had Thanksgiving at my parents house, which was wonderful. The weekend continued with shopping and Christmas Tree hunting.

Sage putting the star on the Christmas Tree. She didnt' understand what she was supposed to do, so we kind of faked it.
Checking out the Christmas lights. We put the tree up when she was napping. When she woke up, she walked into the living room and saw the tree. She looked at me, totally confused, and asked "what happened?"

The great Christmas Tree hunt with the Brunos (Scott's sister's family). We went to a great u-cut in Phoenix. We planned on going to the forest, but I had a really bad heachache, so we settled for a u-cut.

Family picture during the hunt

Thanksgiving Day. Sage having a tea party with her cousins.

3 Years

3 Years ago today was both the best and worst day of my life. Our sweet boys came into this world far too early. They were so brave and beautiful, but far too small to be with us long. I am so thankful for the 5 days we had with Mason and the 6 days we had with Adam. They gave me the chance to be a Mommy, something I had wanted for so long. Their strength was amazing, just not quite enough to stay here with us. They left me with many gifts.....the chance to love them, a stronger marriage, a deeper Faith. And of course the greatest gift of all.......Sage. I don't believe that things happen for a reason, but without Mason & Adam, there would be no Sage. I can't imagine our lives without her, and sometimes when I look at her, I send a little message of Thanks to my Boys.

Grouch

This is the face I get on daycare days when Sage has to get up early. She is NOT a morning person. Thankfully, it doesn't take long for her mood to improve.

Broken

We tried to do a little photo shoot today to get a decent Christmas card picture. Sage is in constant motion and it was nearly impossible to get anything half decent. We managed to get a few good ones, but the majority of them were of her back. She was far too busy to pay attention to the camera. We made huge fools of ourselves trying to get her to look at us. Too bad for us.
So, this morning, Scott & I were drinking coffee and watching the news, when Sage walked into the living room. We heard her say..."Uh Oh...Broke it". I looked up and she was holding my glasses in her hand. She had broken one of the sides completely off. I was so mad at myself for leaving them where she could reach them. Thank God I have another pair of glasses. You live and you learn!

First Haircut

Well, I finally gave in and she got her first haircut today. Her hair was growing out so uneven it gave her a natural mullet. It had to go. I just had the back cut of and shaped into a little bob. It is so cute.
Eating her popcorn from Target. Talk about the perfect bribe food. I can shop all day at Target as long as she has that bag of popcorn and an "ade" otherwise know as Lemonade.

She is starting to string more words together now. Today I asked her to pick up a snack bowl that she had left on the ground. She looked at me and said "I don't want to". Hmm.. I guess it's beginning.

Pumpkin Fairy

Halloweeen was so much fun. It only took going to a couple of houses before Sage figured out that people were giving her candy. She actually said trick-or-treat at every house and thank you. She went to many more houses than I anticipated. She was really caught up in the energy of Halloween. It was one of the funnest times that we've had with her.

Fall Leaves

Here are some pics that I took last week out on our front lawn. We didn't make it to the pumpkin patch this year, so these will have to do. Sage is starting to put 2 words together when she talks now. This morning I was in the kitchen and she walked up to me, put her arms up, and said "Hold Me". I just about died with love.

Girl Time

I got back from my weekend scrapbooking retreat yesterday. Wow, what fun we had. There were 13 of us total. We laughed so hard we cried, we scrapbooked, and we ate lots of yummy food. Carma's spinach salad and Janie's soup were my absolute favorites. I was up until 2am both nights. I haven't had that little of sleep since Sage was a little baby. It was my first time away from Sage for 2 nights. I missed her like crazy, but she had a great time with her daddy and at my parents house. We have another retreat planned for January and I already can't wait. On the Sage front, she is totally off her bottle now. She doesn't really care and has never asked for it. Now, if only the binkie was that easy.

Love You

She says "LOVE YOU" now. It seriously melts my heart. She also always points to her nose when she says "PLEASE". She thinks it is the sign for PLEASE. It is so funny.

Potty Time

A few day ago, I put a potty chair in the bathroom so Sage could become familiar with it. She was immediatly very interested in it and wanted to sit on it. She has peed on it a few times which she has been greatly rewarded with M&M's. Today, she sat on it before nap time and I kept asking her if she was ready to get off it and she kept yelling NO at me. She finally hopped off the thing and low and behold there were 2 huge turds in it. I couldn't believe it. She got a whole mini bag of M&M's for that feat. She loved watching it being flushed down the big toilet and even waved goodbye! She is nowhere near being ready to truly potty train, but I am so proud of her. She's growing up!

Saying Goodbye To A Friend

It has been a really rough week. A friend died unexpectedly on Monday. Valerie was a big part of the scrapbooking community, having owned my very favorite scrapbook store NO BARE PAGES. Thanks to Valerie (and her best friend Carma), I was given the opportunity to meet and become lifelong friends with the group of women I scrap with. We are such a diverse group, who never would have met had it not been for Valerie. Valerie leaves behind her beautiful 15 year old daughter. My heart is breaking for her. I would appreciate good thoughts sent her way.

Laurie's Wedding

Well girls.... Laurie & Patrick got married on Saturday. She was a beautiful bride and everything went off without a hitch. She's going to have lots of pictures to scrapbook. And of course, it wouldn't be a post without a picture of Sage.

Fire

There was a fire near my house today that burned 16 acres. I was so scared. Scott called me at 3:20 to tell me it looked like there was a fire near our house. He had just picked Sage up from daycare and could see the fire off in the distance. I was at work and immediately ran out to my car. All I could think about was getting home to make sure that the dogs were okay and get them out of there if I needed to. It was horrible. They ended up getting the fire under control with air tankers and helicopters. No houses were burned and all is fine up on the hill tonight. Firefighters are staying up here tonight to make sure that all is calm with no hot spots. I really hate fire. Bring on some rain!!!!

Mill Creek Falls

We went to Mill Creek Falls today for a little hike. It was our first time taking Sage hiking. She did great. At one point, she literally ate dirt when she fell. She didn't care though, she just shook it off and took off again. She was so dirty, we had to give her a bath when we got home. She did great on the one hour drive. She is not really a car kid, so I just turned on a Diego DVD and it worked its magic. Towards the end of our hike, she was so tired & Scott finally had to carry her. We had a little picnic and just got to spend some nice time outdoors. We are planning on buying a tent trailor before next summer, so we also scoped out some fun family friendly places to camp. Lost Creek Lake looked like it would be a fun place to stay.

For Alison

And this picture too, only because she threatened me with my life if I put in on the blog. This is one of my dearest friends, Alison. We met in chemistry class in college and went all through the nursing program together. She is the warmest, funniest, smartest person I know. She lives up past Seattle now, so we don't get to see each other often anymore, but we keep in touch on the phone and email. She also just finished her masters degree and is now a Psychiatric Nurse Practioner (smarty pants!). I am so proud of her. She's leaving for Hawaii tomorrow morning with her husband. Have fun in Kuai!!!!

Happy Labor Day

I've been so lazy lately and not blogging at all. I'm working a bit more, so my time is more limited. I bow to those moms that have to work full time. I seriously don't know how you do it. I work 2 or 2 1/2 days a week and I feel overwhelmed with that. My parents kept Sage overnight on Saturday, so Scott and I went to a nice dinner and then came home and cleaned the carpets and scrubbed the floors. Gotta get the heavy work done when Sage isn't here. She had a great time at my parents house. They are going to keep her more often now, which will be really good for her. She just adores them. She loves to look at their pictures that are up around the house and say their names. There is definitley a feel of fall in the air. I'm getting ancy for the fun of fall. The big question of course....what should Sage be for Halloween? Any suggestions?

In The Dog House

Usually when Sage is running around the house, I can hear her chattering away. This morning it all of a sudden got very quiet, so I went looking for her. I couldn't find her and started to panic. Then I heard a tiny noise in my bedroom. There she was...in the dog crate. She relaxed in there for about 10 minutes. It is pretty cozy.

Riley is not supposed to be laying in Sage's chair. He minds well, don't you think?

Go Diego Go

I'm not sure if this is good or not, but Sage loves Go Diego Go. For those of you without little kiddos, Go Diego Go is a cartoon about a little boy who is an Animal Scientist. She is completley tranfixed by it and will sit and watch an entire thirty minute episode without a peep. When she wants to watch it, she points atthe tv and says Diego. Diego trumps The Wiggles in Sage's world.

PS...I've been very bad at taking pictures lately. I think I need my friend Laura to do a photo shoot with Sage. Hmm Laura..what do you think?

The Motorcycle

She loves it. Whenever the garage door opens and she sees Scott's bike, she points at it and wants to sit on it. She would stay out in the garage forever with her dad. It is their time together and it is so cute.

Tired Girl

Today is the first day that our out- of- town company is gone and Sage was exhausted! She had such a great time being with her cousin Megan for a week. I think Sage thought that Megan was staying. We had a quiet day and Sage layed on the couch and watched GO DIEGO GO all morning. She was much better after a 3 hour nap this afternoon.

My friend Alison left this morning. Our visit was so fun, but far too short. She hasn't been reading my blog because she assumed I would just flake out on it. Surprise to her! I expect her to be a loyal reader now and leave me some comments.

Here is a picture of Sage this morning, lounging on the couch.

Busy!

Our niece Megan is staying with us this week and then my great friend Alison is coming to stay this weekend. Needless to say...no time to blog. I'll catch up next week.

Scott's New Baby

There's a new baby at the Lambert house and it belongs to Scott. Here it is. He loves it (although he still needs to get his motorcycle license).

In Sage news, she can now sing the theme song to the t.v. show Two & A Half Men. I am very proud.
